October 2014 Parish Meeting

Notice is given of the October 2014 Parish Meeting when grasscutting in the village will be on the agenda.

The notice, which can be seen in full under the Agendas menu, warns that North Yorkshire County Council will no longer carry out grass cutting other than roadside verges.  The last grass cutting plan agreed with North Yorkshire County Council for the village was in 2004.  This scheme ( other maps also available to view) has not been adhered to over the past couple of years.  For decades contractors have been paid to cut grass already cut by householders as well as tarmac pavements!

Also discussed will be the precept. This is the  amount of money the parish levies on each household to raise funds to spend on the village.  This is added to the monies required by other authorities and forms part of the Council Tax Demand.

Anyone with issues they wish to raise at the meeting has to inform the clerk John Horsman, in writing by 5pm on October 23rd 2014. The Parish Meeting is on Thursday 30th October 2014 at Swinton Sports Hall, starting at 7pm.

The final agenda will be available later that day on the noticeboard.
