November 7th 2013…. Swinton Low Lane.

From the NYP Messaging Boards:

Between 1345hrs and 1420hrs on Monday 4th November 2013, a suspicious incident occurred on the outskirts of Swinton near Malton. A lone young female was walking her dog along Low Lane away from the village towards the river. The female realised she was being followed by a male who was walking a short distance behind her. The male slowed as she slowed, stopped as she stopped and sped up as she sped up. The male is described as white, 40 to 50 years old, about 5’9″ tall and of broad build. He possibly had dark hair but had no facial hair and he was not wearing glasses. He wore a dark zip up fleece and dark coloured, possibly tracksuit bottoms. Anyone with information as to the identity of the male or who has found themselves in similar circumstances to this young female in the Swinton area is asked to contact PC Paul Fenwick at Malton Police Station by calling 101 quoting police incident number 12130193110.

From the Scarborough and Ryedale Police Newsletter:

Malton police are asking a man to come forward following a suspicious incident near the town.

It occurred between 1.45pm and 2.20pm on Monday 4 November 2013, when a 15-year-old girl was walking her dog on Low Lane, Swinton, away from the village towards the river.

She noticed a man behind her who seemed to match her pace when she walked faster or slowed down. However, he did not approach the girl or speak to her.

The man is described as white, around 40 to 50 years old and with a broad build. He was wearing a dark fleece jacket and dark coloured trousers, which may have been tracksuit bottoms.

PC Paul Fenwick, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the Low Lane area at the time and may have seen the man to come forward and contact the police straight away.

“It may be that the man was in the area for a wholly innocent reason and I ask that he gets in touch as soon as possible so that I can establish the circumstances surroundings the incident.”

Anyone who can help to identify the man is asked to contact Malton police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Paul Fenwick. Alternatively, information can be emailed topaul.fenwick@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting reference number 12130193110.
