Bonfire and fireworks Nights at Swinton Sports Centre.

Once again the Swinton Village Action Group is planning its Annual Bonfire and Fireworks party at the Sports Centre, this year on Saturday 31st October which is Halloween Night.

So this year it will have a Halloween theme with a prize being awarded for the best pumpkin lantern.

Tickets are £4.00 adults and £2.00 for over fives.  They have to be purchased in advance to assist with catering arrangements for the BBQ.

If you have any items for the bonfire these can be delivered to the Sports Centre, please ring 696544 to arrange time for delivery.

No sparklers on the night as usual to comply with insurance regulations.

Help with setting up, clearing away, cooking and serving food on the night it would be much appreciated.

The above information was taken from the Swinton Newsletter.

Broughton residents are invited to join in the bonfire and fireworks nights held at the BSA sports centre in Swinton.

There is an entry charge.

Those attending are instructed NOT to take their own fireworks.

Run by volunteers it is an event that is always in need of helpers as well as materials for the bonfire.

Currently under the management of Jan Anderson, Chair Swinton Village Action Group,  the 2014 event will be held on Saturday 1 November starting at 6pm.

Helpers needed

Helpers needed are people in the food area to help serve beefburgers and take money and on the gate to
sell tickets and collect money.

There is no need for helpers to be on duty all night unless there are not enough people available to take a turn – so the more the merrier.

Building the bonfire

Meanwhile Bonfire material can be delivered on Saturday 25 October between 10 – 12 noon and again on Saturday 1 November between 10 – 12 noon. (only dry wood,no tyres or tins)
